Hawzah News Agency (Qom, Iran) – In a meeting with a group of Christian priests from Germany on Sunday, May 7 in Qom, Ayatollah Alavi Boroujerdi asserted, "The majority of people in the world believe in religions and most of them are followers of Abrahamic religions. Believing in God is something that is common among all these Abrahamic religions."
The Shia cleric added, "In today's world, we're dealing with numerous issues such as poverty, illiteracy, discriminations, oppression and injustice; we as followers of Abrahamic faiths must take a stance on how to tackle such issues."
"The idea to fight extremism and radicalism is something that Muslims and Christians have in common; we, as religious scholars, have great influence on people, they trust our words and that's why we are held accountable for our words and actions in front of people, this shows how great our responsibility is."
"I hope that Abrahamic religions hold the flag of peace worldwide and combat illiteracy and poverty all around the world." Ayatollah Alavi Boroujerdi concluded.
